Healing Hearts Rebuilding Project

Event Details

The Missions Commission has adopted a project for the current year to assist Healing Hearts Ministry with the reconstruction of their shop building. It was destroyed by fire last summer along with all their tools and uncompleted projects, including a wood-strip canoe that was almost finished.

Healing Hearts is a Christian ministry that works with First Nations people in North Central Regina. Their ministries include teaching young people woodworking skills by making furniture and wood-strip canoes and a bicycle repair shop.

The Missions budget will match donations up to $5000 made by April 30, 2017. Make donations out to First Baptist with the note “Healing Hearts Ministries”.

In Memory of Jennifer Bisson

Prior  to the loss of the building, the Missions Commission was looking for a way of helping Healing Hearts. This project was of special interest to Jennifer Bisson, who had just taken on the role of commission chair. While she was unable to see this project through, we would like to dedicate our participation in it to her memory.
